Admissions process

Applying for admission

I don’t feel confident in my Japanese. Can I email you in my native language?

We can handle correspondence in six languages: Japanese, Korean, Chinese, English, Mongolian, and Vietnamese.

Is there an age limit for admission?

We have no age limit, but there may be delays or difficulties in your visa application if a considerable time has passed since your last educational experience.

At least some of the original copy of my admissions application is written in my native language. Do I need to translate it?

If the original is in a language other than Japanese or English, please include a translation. An English translation is preferable so that we can check correct spellings and the like.

Should I use a computer to fill out the application form and resume in the admissions application documents?

Please use a computer to fill out the school forms so that it will be easier to check spellings. Please avoid writing them by hand wherever possible.

Financial sponsors

Does my financial sponsor need to be Japanese?

Non-Japanese financial sponsors are also acceptable.

What is the minimum bank balance required for a financial sponsor?

Over ¥1,500,000 in Japanese yen is required, while it depends on study-abroad period.

Can I be my own financial sponsor?

If you have worked at the same place of employment for the past three years and have a bank balance of over ¥1,500,000 million, then you can be your own financial sponsor.

You may be required to submit a statement of your last three years of account activity.

Is proof of bank account balance all that is needed?

Recently, some students have been required to submit a statement of the sponsor’s last three years of account activity, so it is advisable to have such a statement ready in advance.

Refund rules

If I end my studies at Akamonkai earlier than scheduled, and go on to the next level of education, return to reside in my country, or find employment at a Japanese company, is it possible to get a refund of my overpaid tuition?

It is possible. We refund overpaid tuition in three-month units. (However, we are unable to refund the first six months.) You will be required to submit documentation substantiating your academic or career path.
