Our School Measures toward COVID-19 (Updated on March 19th, 2020)

We are currently taking the following measures to prevent the coronavirus infections.

1. Change of the Class Hours

In order to avoid letting our students come to the school during the rush hours, we decided to change the class hours for the time being.

Class Hours after Changes

Morning class: 9: 30-12: 40 (90 mins×2 periods, 10 mins recess)

Afternoon class: 13: 10-16: 20 (90 mins×2 periods, 10 mins recess)

2.Environmental Measures for Our School, Classrooms and Student Dormitories

・ Preparation of thermometer and hand sanitizer
・ Put hand sanitizer on hands before the classes start
・ Wear a face mask during school commuting and classes
・ Disinfection of in-school building and student dormitory with disinfection liquid spreading machine
・ Ventilation of classrooms and corridors during the every recess
・ Change of available time for school library
Before the change: Open for 24 hours, available on holidays
After the change: 9:00 - 17:30, available only on weekdays

3. Notices to Akamonkai Teachers, Staffs and Students
・ Wear a face mask when going outside, wash your hands and gargle when returning to home
・ Avoid unnecessary and non-urgent outings

4. School Events
・ Extra-curricular activities (Japanese Conversation Clubs, Calligraphy Clubs, etc.) are temporarily suspended.

5. Other Policy
・ If a student is proved to have a fever over 37℃, or to have contacted with an infected person, the attendance for the school will be suspended until the student gets the permission from a doctor to get back to school.
・ The students from the regions/countries with relatively many infected patients, or the students who have a travel history to those regions/countries, or who had close contact with those who came from those regions/countries have to stay at their home for 14 days as needed.
・ The students from the regions/countries with many infected patients are recommended not to make a temporary visit back to their home regions/countries.

Lastly, we have no suspected infected students at this point. We are going to take our best and thorough measure to grasp the situations and conditions of our students. If any emergent cases would happen in the future, we’re going to take the swift measures.
